So the other day, I was flaunting some of my cosmetics collection to one of my friends where I was tagged as a queen of Pinks and Reds when it comes to lip colors. I gave it a thought and that’s true! I’ve always been looking for the perfect pink and red lip colors that would look best on my skin tone.
Pinks have always attracted me; be it on the brighter pink side or the subtle pink side with hues of brown, I’ve never hesitated buying one. Considering my love for the pinks, I’ve decided to share a recent hot favorite pink lip color on my list.
We all know about the new chubby lipsticks introduced by various brands with nice tints and so, I’m covering “Lovesick Passionate” of Revlon’s Just Bitten Kissable collection today.
I’ve never gone bold with the Pinks in my life ever but this time around I thought of going crazy with the Pinks. Hence, I got myself Lovesick Passionate as it has hues of shocking pink. The lipcolor has a beautiful tendency of changing colors. The more you apply, the better the shade becomes.
This is just applied once but as you go down, the intensity of the color changes. In reality, it has a nice and warm shade of pink.
So, you can actually apply lesser for a nice day look and apply 3 to 4 coats for a sexy night look as it gives your lips a nice moisturized look. For me, it’s more of a 2 in 1 lip color as it gives my lips the look of a lip color + lip gloss finish.
This color is always in my bag and whenever I wear it, I get the compliment of carrying off a colorful look by most of my friends. In other words, I’ve gotten love struck with this shade and it remains intact even in hot and humid weather unlike other cheap brands that fall off if not kept in refrigerator / freezer.
So..I’ve been really occupied with my work lately due to which I’ve ignored my baby for long enough! But not any more, I’m coming up with another post about a sultry nail color. Basically, I got the much awaited Sally Hansen nail color from one of the Pakistani beauty pages; NY The World of Makeup. I’ve always wanted to try it out as there’s decent fan following of it.
Starting off with the nail color bottle, it surely is a unique one. For me, it was a “love at first sight” situation. Coming down to the quality of the brush applicator, it was amazing and wide enough to cover almost 3/4th of the nail in just one coat. Its brush has a round curvy shape which makes it easier to apply.

I bought this shade named as “So much fawn” which is neither fawn nor pink nor peach. It’s a nice milky brown sort of shade which has hues of tea pink color.
Moving forward, the quality of this product is a really big turn off! I was not expecting it to be chipping the next day where it says it’s a complete salon look. I was disappointed because, this color gets dried up quickly as compared to others but the chipping story was pure disgust.
The next time I tried a top coat along with it but even it didn’t give me as good results, considering it kept the color intact for 2 days. It’s a good brand with decent pricing but the long lasting quality of our local brands is much much better than this.
Day 2 and the color has gotten chipped from the tips with Top Coat
Talking about eye liners, I’ve always been a fan of long lasting eye liners as my lids are oily and the liner ends up disappearing from my eye. Therefore, I either look for crayon based liners and for some odd reason I don’t like liquid eye liners. But this time around, I got this Maybelline Lasting Drama Eye Studio Gel Liner from one of my really good friends as my birthday present.
I was really happy as it was a gift with some thought put in place. She gifted me a brown eye liner, which I’ve never had and I had plans of buying a brown one for a change. I was really bored of blacks.
Anyway, coming down to the product description (do I not sound like a freelance writer at the moment? :P) This product comes in a cute little pot along with a nice brush for that great precision which you are not able to get from an eye liner pencil. I was always skeptical about using a brush eye liner as the fear of unstable hands prevailed. But believe you me, once when I applied on my eye lid and I felt as if it was as easy as pie.
My hand had some sort of magical powers or was it the brush’s flawless shape that made it easy peasy for me. Be it any style, thin, winged or cat eyes, this brush will make it all possible for you. 🙂
This product has a nice dark chocolate brown result with a little bit of shimmery tinge in it to give your eyes a perfect glam look. 😉 So, be bold and wear it on any occasion. Get noticed and make him fall for you! 😉
Don’t fret that brush is just like a magical wand and let the beauty lie in the eyes of the beholder 😉
I noticed that I haven’t written much about the face category. So, I thought about writing one today. Basically, I had heard mixed reviews about these BB Creams that various brands are offering. So, this curiosity led me to get my hands on one of the BB Creams. I was visiting a super market where my eyes caught the attention of Garnier’s BB Cream, produced in India. The packaging said it’s a Light Shade that has undertones of yellow.
I must tell you, it was a good decision made by me as it turned out to be too good for me. It comes in a nice tube with a nozzle neck which makes it easier to apply directly on the face. During the winter season, it gave me a nice glow and coverage, so much so that my office colleagues asked me for this prominent change.I really didn’t use anything else on my face except for blush. But I’m starting to have this feeling that if I want to stick to this product during Summers, I’ll have to seal it up with a little bit of face powder so that my skin doesn’t get oily during the day.
You can look at the result of this product, my skin is dull and where I’ve applied the BB cream swatch, it has a gleaming look.
Final Result. Look at the visible difference. There are 2 tones. one on the left is without the application whereas, the right side is the one with application.
Another thing I really love about this product is its versatility. I can even use it during evening makeup or casual dinners with some patting of face powder in order to enhance it and voila; it gives your face a nice fair look with pink undertones.
It costed me PKR 399 which is pretty reasonable. If I get a chance to buy the Indian version again, I’d love to do so. I don’t think I’d be able to buy the local version now since I’ve had a nice experience with this Indian one.
Chubby Blush Stick: Apple Cheeks
Sometimes, I’m a perfectionist when it comes to buying or trying swatches of beauty products; especially blushes. I have always gotten fantasized by pink marshmallow colored blushes but I couldn’t find the right one until I got this pot mousse blush from one of the renowned brands that was best friends with my skin. Unfortunately, they discontinued that product and I was again left with powdered blushes which weren’t as pigmented and the powder used to disappear.
I was then looking for a mid-priced mousse blush that could serve the purpose. I couldn’t get any from local markets or sometimes it used to be out of stock from one of the private vendors. Fortunately, I came across this page on Facebook named as NY: The World of Makeup , that was organizing a semi- annual beauty sale of all renowned brands that are not available in Pakistan at affordable rates. Seriously, you’ve got to be a part of this page as it got me some of the great beauty products.
I came across this chubby stick of Jordana’s pink blush which was available and I knew it in my mind that my quest for mousse blushes is gonna be relieved for some time. I booked it asap for myself.
The shade of this blush is “Apple Cheeks”. It’s a mini blush stick which one could easily carry in their handbags. Its pigmentation is just incredible.
Blending in process
I tried using it directly on my cheek bones which had an amazing pop of pink color which seemed as if someone slapped me :P. Therefore, I got hold of a blush brush and decided to tap it on the face of the stick and get the desired amount of mousse on it. And voila, it was amazing! The result was perfect and so was its long lasting effect. It didn’t run away and I was delighted about my purchase. This blush really suited me and I’d highly recommend to those who are hesitant about using Jordana’s blush, I approve of it! It even has bronze, coral and light and dark tones of pink and peach blushes.
This blush stick’s price for being available in Pakistan is Rs. 500 which is pretty reasonable. If I had to get it from US myself, then it would have been expensive than what the seller offered me and she got it delivered to my office free of cost. Isn’t that amazing? The page is owned by Nida Yousuf, a really nice and cooperative female! I just like promoting females and individuals who take such initiatives. Happy Buying in Future.
I’ve got my hands on another creme blush and pretty soon I’ll share my reviews on it and then a comparison on both of these. Till then ciao.
I am a nail color fanatic. I have started to think I should have had my blog’s name something related to nails. Aaah…just kidding!
I like dark colors in nails but who doesn’t like pretty pinks and sexy reds once in a while? I tried one of the sweet pinks recently named as Alexandria by Color Studio Professional. This shade of pink has purple hues in it and I must say it’s an amazing shade especially for yellow toned skin like mine. It made my hands look fairer by one tone.
Last time, I used their nail colors 14 months back and they were just fine then, but with time, they’ve improved the quality of their nail colors. The glossy effect in their nail colors along with a smoother texture is a treat to your nails. The applicator brush has also gotten softer than before thereby, giving you great application in just one go.
The color is of good consistency as just one coat was good enough but I’m a person who loves doing double coat to enhance the color. Believe you me, just one coat serves the purpose. This little hero costed me Rs.250
As promised earlier, I am finally sharing a post on my favorite picks of red colored lipsticks. All 3 are of different color appearances, textures and purposes. Let’s name our 3 heroes; Maybelline Super Stay 24hr “Cherry Pie” , MUA Power Pout “Runway” and Color Studio “Bombshell”.
Starting from MUA Power Pout, the shade Runway is a nice day and evening wear moisturizing tinted lip balm to give your lips an orangish red look. One of the downside of this product is the product durability within the packaging, which is below par; hence I wouldn’t want to own it again despite loving its versatility as even after being removed from your lips, one could see light shades of its tint.
Coming next is Color Studio’s Bombshell which is a bright red lipstick. Its vibrant appearance makes it a perfect evening and night party kind of shade. It’s going to rock your black colored dress for sure. This product doesn’t have any downsides.
Last but not the least, Maybelline’s SuperStay 24hr “Cherry Pie” is an amazing rich red color which I’d like to call as wine red rather than cherry red. It’s a really deep red shade which is perfect to complement your light eyes make up which one could wear at a wedding.
One of the downsides of this product is its dryness, despite having a lip-balm attached to it, the product just keeps drying up with the sensation of tiny flakes on one’s lips. However, the promise of being a super stay product is real as it’s really hard to get this product off, of your lips.
A final comparison of all 3 shades is displayed below
It has been a month and I’ve just written one blog post on eyes. Let’s talk about Eyes makeup today. I am a sucker for good quality eye liners as my eye lids are shaped in a way which do not support eye-shadow and eye liner combination that much due to the visibility issues. Therefore, I usually wear a thick eye liner coat on my eyelids except for weddings or very special events.
A lot of people like wearing neutral colors like black and brown as their eye liners but I prefer matching my eye liners with the dress code. I have an issue of oily eye lids and my water line is too fragile. Anything that I apply on my water line, it just slips away or smudges. Hence, the hunt for waterproof eye liners was going on until I found this amazing product at Ami’s of Miss and Mrs. Slide Waterproof Pencils.
These are beautiful crayon based pencils available in both; lip and eye pencils. The color range is great. My 2 favorites were the teal and cool icy blue as they are my favorite colors and I have clothes in those shades. Basically, they were a perfect match for my dresses collection as mostly you don’t get such perfect colors according to your needs.
L to R: Icy Blue and Teal
The brand promises water resistance and has a smooth glide to it. One stroke is good to go but one could add oomph to their eyes by applying two strokes. 😉 Moreover, the product doesn’t smudge so it’s a double treat for my eyes.
Icy Blue Teal
One of the best things about using this product is getting admired for the eye liner selection in various gatherings. There hasn’t been one gathering where someone has not asked me about this product that I had worn on my eyes and most people think that it’s of Body Shop! 😀
Icy Blue (with flash) Teal (with flash)
It’s reasonably priced at Rs. 350 and the pencil would last long as the product’s application is long lasting so you wouldn’t want to go for a touch up.
Talking about winters, moisturizing lip balms or tinted lip moisturizers is one of the must have beauty products in a female’s hand bag. Therefore, I got myself MUA’s Power Pout due to its much created hype.
I selected the shade “Runway” which was more like a tomato red color. I was happy to look at the product as I had gotten it ordered through an online e-commerce website where I never got to swatch the product. The color was a perfect match for my lips. Not too bold or not too bright with a moisturizing effect. It was perfect for me to wear at office or at a casual meet-up.
Perfect Red Look to my lips.
I bought this product during November (mid-summer) and unfortunately it didn’t live up to my expectations when it came to its durability. The product has an amazing shade but the quality was a big turn for me. It came to my surprise that the product couldn’t even survive the month of December and January. I was being told by people to put it inside the freezer, but why do I even have to do that? I hate doing that, as they are not travel friendly and when you keep it inside the freezer or fridge, the products get worse when they come to room temperature.
I have a mixed review about this product as it gave a nice look to my lips but the lipstick got broken entirely and I had to throw it in the trash can sadly. I was using it on daily basis and almost half of it was still left. It was yesterday I had to discard it.
Sadly, here’s a display of the broken product
Sometimes, it hurts that brands have really cool colors but then you can’t keep them for long. The bottom line is, I won’t be buying any lip product of MUA again. That’s for sure as in the past as well, their lipsticks have disappointed me big time.
Since, I started my blog exactly a month before, that’s why I am writing about this product which I’ve owned for the past 1 year. I love exploring a few products while I visit a super store. I got this L’oreal Elvive’s Liso Intenso aka Anti Frizz collection from Ami’s. I was searching for a hair serum but I got this instead which is more of a hair styling cream which I could use just before straightening my hair.
For the first time I tried this product during peak summer i.e. July while I was straightening my hair and it gave my hair a flawless look from top to tips thereby curing my split ends. The reason being, during summer, everyone’s hair become frizzy and straightening alone isn’t reliable for a perfect finish, even if you condition your hair. Hence, I tried this product with just a dollop on my left partition and then again a dollop on my right partition thoroughly. Believe me, just 2 dollops were sufficient as you need to properly massage your hair to avoiding sticky strands and balancing hair texture.
Then comes the straightening part. Half of my hair is frizzy, from the middle all the way down to the tips. Usually with any serum, I need to get the same hair chunk to be stroked twice with a hair straightener but with this cream I didn’t even require straightening the hair chunk twice. It had a perfect smooth texture along with a glossy look just in one stroke. It gave my hair a salon kind of look at home.
Flawless Result. Check out the split ends.
I tried the locally available serum of the same range of LO’real which was less effective, relatively expensive which didn’t even give a shiny look to my hair. On the other hand, this is the imported L’Oreal smooth styling cream which had some other Thai or Malay kind of language printed on the label and the price was surprisingly way too reasonable i.e. Rs. 350
Look at the language printed on the label
I recommended this product to a few friends and I even tried stocking it as I have a habit of stocking up good quality beauty and personal care products. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get my hands on it here in Karachi but one of my friends got it in Lahore and is enjoying it fully. I strongly recommend it to my readers as it’s a great buy and you wouldn’t be disappointed if you want your hair to be sleek and shiny. This was a perfect treat to my hair.
